your first course of action is setting up a repo with bluebuild and creating three copies of the recipe file, with clear names and different
name:
properties (also set
base-image
to whatever you want)
then you should add all of those recipe files to the github workflow file in
.github/workflows/build.yml
, replacing the default of
- recipe.yml
once you have images there are many tools to build them into offline installer ISOs
http://github.com/jasonn3/build-container-installer is one that is integrated into the CLI, so you can just run
bluebuild generate-iso
to use it
another popular option is https://github.com/ublue-os/titanoboa
once you find something that works for you and build ISOs of your images, you can just flash them onto USB drives and install the machines
the machines cannot update without internet access, though
for dotfiles there's many options; - directories in
/etc/
for those programs that support system-wide configuration -
/etc/skel/
to set the template dotfiles in each new users home directory (only applied at user-creation time on your image) -
chezmoi
module or some other dotfile manager for storing user config files separately in a git repo
