Hello all, I have a question on creating multi-services with
bentoml.depends()
, I recently made a multi-service bentoml with a
bentofile.yaml
that has the entry service (the one that references the other service as a dependency). However when I containerize it using bentoml containerize after building, it seems there are a lot of layers that are unused? In fact when I shift both services to be housed into a single service, those unused layers disappear (as a multi-service the total size of the docker image is twice the unique size, while as a single service the total size and unique size are about equal). I was wondering if there's anything I could get more insight into how the dependency service is built automatically and if that could contribute to some of the unused layers in the docker image? Thanks for any insight on this!

@Frost Ming what do you think?

There is no clear clue indicating that the multi-services relates to image size. Did the python dependencies change between single and multi service?
you can see the docker file under
<bento_path>/env/docker

No, the dependencies don't change - my first thought was that maybe there were duplicates of the dependencies or something but that's not the case.
