the default protocol for handling Image for Image IO descriptor is using pillow!
j
Right right, where would i need to include it in order for the container to include pillow? in the .yaml file or would i build the bento with bentoml[io-image]?
j
either will do! it will be easier to manage it in the
bentofile.yaml
under
Copy code
python:
packages: # Additional pip packages required by the service
    - scikit-learn
    - pandas
    - pillow # here
j
okay! I did try to put in in requirements.txt and it didnt work thats why im asking but ill give this a shot! Thank you so much
j
you can use requirements.txt but you have you ask the bentofile.yaml to refer to it.
python:
    requirements_txt: "./path-to-it/requirements.txt"
https://docs.bentoml.com/en/latest/concepts/bento.html#python-packages
j
ahhhhhhh okay that makes sense yeah ill just put it in the yaml file lol

alright for real my last problem 😅 I have a index.json file that is in a folder in my service folder that gives a output with the prediction. Its not seeming to recognize it in the cloud push but works on the local server. How would I include that in the yaml file? This is what I currently got
conda:
channels:
- conda-forge
dependencies:
- tensorflow
- numpy
- pillow
- bentoml[io-image]
E_index.json: ./content/E_index.json
service: "service:electrical_service" # Same as the argument passed to bentoml
labels:
owner: Josh
stage: production
include:
- "*.py" # A pattern for matching which files to include in the bento
and do you think the content folder would need a init.py?
nvm i got it i just put -"*.json" under include
Hey Jian, I got everything up and functioning as expected but when trying to test it on postman im getting a 504 gateway. Do you know what the key would be when making the post request for a image?
j
if you visit the service homepage under
Try it out
you would get an example of how you send the curl request!
j
Resolved! Thank you so much Jian you've been fantastic
