if i change the following in tag.py
Copy code
@classmethod
    def from_str(cls, tag_str: str) -> "Tag":
        tag_str = tag_str.rstrip()
it works..... but it is not clean...
j
@sauyon do you have some insights to this? do you think its an OS issue
s
How was the tag created?
c
i also had the problem yesterday, that you can not pull a bento from yatai on a windows system, as there is a path problem (even when the bento is pushed to yatai with the same system) https://github.com/bentoml/BentoML/issues/4440
j
Copy code
svc = bentoml.Service("p05_s1_anomaly_service", runners=runner_list)
^
c
@sauyon sorry i did not put this in the same thread unfortunately, it is the message above this one in the channel
s
Ah, I see. Yeah, I imagine this is just a Windows bug of some sort, we should file it and the team can take a look!
c
thanks! :-)
j
will be helpful if you can help us pinpoint which line of the code introduces this bug! @Chris
c
i will try to, at least i can tell it is not when calling the bentoml.Service() class in the service.py file, it is at a later process step of the building process
maybe worth mentioning: i can build using the CLI (in Anaconda Prompt)

found it
The problem is in the bentos.py file
Copy code
def _parse_tag_from_outputs(output: bytes) -> str:
    matched = re.search(
        r"^__tag__:([^:\n]+:[^:\n]+)$",
        output.decode("utf-8").strip(),
        flags=re.MULTILINE,
    )
    if matched is None:
        raise BentoMLException(
            f"Failed to find tag from output: {output}\nNote: Output from 'bentoml build' might not be correct. Please open an issue on GitHub."
        )
    return matched.group(1).strip() ## Add rstrip to remove trailing \r
If you add the strip() command in the return argument, it works. Somehow the regex produces this.. maybe the MULTILINE argument?
