Hello, with the release of Avo 4 we have an application that's currently using Avo 3. I have been asked to review our options for continuing to use Avo. It looks like the Avo 4 "essentials bundle" is the minimum required for this application, which puts the price at $75 / month. That is a substantial increase ($900 / year) from the $250 / year for the current Avo 3 license, so I expect to be asked if we can continue with Avo 3's current annual license. I see that it's set to renew next month at $350. I also noted Adrian's comment in another thread: > Avo 4 is essentially a different product from Avo 3. > Avo 3 will still be updated and kept secure. Avo 4 is the new flagship product going forward. It is useful to know that Avo 3 will still be supported, but will the license structure remain the same or is it expected to transition to the same monthly-only tiers as Avo 4 with no annual payment option? Is the price expected to stay roughly the same, or will it increase to be closer to Avo 4's cost?

Hey James, I can't remember, which app are you building? You can share the name or the public key. I can look into the $250->$350 renewal. Regarding your question, yes, Avo 3 is still supported and will receive updates (bugfixes and security updates). We cut three new security releases this month alone. Yeah, you can't beat that early, grandfatherered price. Avo has come a far way from what it was then. We are not going to change the pricing structure for Avo 3. The way we handled price increases so far was to not force our existing customers to upgrade and grandfather them in as it happened in your case. Let me know if you have any more questions

Yeah. Your subscription would jump to $105/month for Essentials pack + Dashboards. You'd get way more than with the previous Pro tier though. Some features from the old Advanced too like custom controls. It's tough to compare it to the grandfathered price. It's better if you frame it as a big big upgrade. You could even showcase it to the team. The [upgrade guide](https://docs.avohq.io/4.0/avo-3-avo-4-upgrade.html) has a prompt you can give to the LLM and you could start a trial and have that running in production in no time. I think the team will evaluate it differently than "a minor version upgrade". I'm here if you need any help 🙌
