is anyone else using avo 2.32.0 and experiencing an unexpected failure with a message about needing to install the
dalli
gem? I opened https://github.com/avo-hq/avo/issues/1731 to describe it, but it would be helpful to know if anyone else is also affected.
l
my bad on this one
I didn't test it enough to see that it will trigger that
released 2.32.1 now. can you please test it and let me know if that fiexs it for you?
w
yes, I will take a look at it in the next hour or so. Thanks for the fast turnaround!
I updated our rails application to 2.32.1 and tried building a heroku review app. I got the following (different) error at about the same step in the build process:
```-----> Preparing app for Rails asset pipeline Running: rake assets:precompile rake aborted! ArgumentError: wrong number of arguments (given 0, expected 1) /tmp/build_dc52579c/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/activesupport-7.0.4.3/lib/active_support/cache/file_store.rb:21:in `initialize' /tmp/build_dc52579c/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/avo-2.32.1/lib/avo/app.rb:47:in `new' /tmp/build_dc52579c/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/avo-2.32.1/lib/avo/app.rb:47:in `get_cache_store' /tmp/build_dc52579c/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/avo-2.32.1/lib/avo/app.rb:34:in `boot' /tmp/build_dc52579c/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/avo-2.32.1/lib/avo/engine.rb:23:in `block in '
I can work around that one by setting the cache up to use redis, but it looks like that will happen for the fallback case you wanted (FileStore)
l
hmm
just a sec. trying on my en
releasing 2.32.2 now with that fix
w
this is a very challenging area in which to do much of any testing 😕
l
2.32.2 is out. please try that version
w
got it
l
yes, it's not easy.
w
I will test it now
l
we need a cache store to store our licensing response
we used Memory until recently when we figured out that if you use a multi-process server like puma, each process gets its own cache store (in memory)
so we thought... if the app doesn't have redis or memcached, we'll fallback on the filesystem
w
that sounds reasonable
ok, after I updated to 2.32.2 I was able to complete a successful review app build
so that looks pretty good to me
l
good to hear
yeah, I think it will all be ok
sorry for all of that
l
... breaking your app and all
w
this application has a pretty robust QA / release process, so it wasn't a big deal.
