Hi. We want returning users to be able to authenticate with biometrics directly without entering their email address. We tried to add a "use biometrics" button to the first screen of our flow, but have trouble handling both sign up and in when using it. See the screenshot of the associated part of our flow (starting from the "use biometrics" button).

A "save my account on this device" feature the automatically fills in the email address field in this screen could also fit our need if the above can't be done.

Hi Noel, For direct biometric authentication without entering an email, use Passkey Autofill. This feature allows returning users to authenticate immediately when they focus on the login ID input field. To enable this in your flow: 1. On your login screen with the email input, toggle Enable sign in with Passkey Autofill 2. The browser will automatically recognize if the user has a private key for your site and display a passkey prompt when the user selects the login ID input box 3. Once the user selects their passkey, the browser prompts for biometric verification and automatically logs them in without typing their email This eliminates the need for a separate "use biometrics" button on the first screen, as the autofill feature handles both the identifier and authentication in one step. If you still want a dedicated biometrics button approach, you'll need to handle sign-up separately since biometric authentication requires an existing registered user with passkey credentials.
