My preference would still be to not have the blog sub-pages in the left nav bar; instead have 
blog
as a regular menu item (without children) going to 
/blog
that would then list the pages. The titles are quite long on the blog posts, so it 
wrap
rather poorly, especially on mobile. With that being said, grouping them by year is a solid improvement 🙂

Long term we could make a dedicated 
blog
left-nav bar without guide/docs/contributing to give it more space to breathe

i see your point, let me check if vitepress does support two sidebars before removing them from the sidebar

We currently have 7 blog posts, so its fairly limited space (and no scrolling needed on most devices); using a dedicated left navbar for blogs posts, grouped by year would be a solid improvement

I still like sidebar though (long term we should improve the blog entry page, might need to evolve a bit)

maybe having the left nav-bar only show the years, and each year links to an index page for that year

avoids wrapping, but also easy jump to ~relevant year/content

on a second thought, I am gonna keep the sidebar as it is.
(I did a bit sidebar plugin browsing in vitepress) maybe we can followup on the blog index thing.
