I submitted this issue and am working on a PR, however, in the case where someone is specifying the secret via awsSecretName, I'm not sure if the desire would still to be allow specifying an empty config/credentials in order to force them to get added as files instead of mounting the entire directory as a secret or what. I can draft my PR if it helps to understand my question. Thanks

Hi @Ryan, thanks in advance for the contribution 😄 . I’d say it’s best to send the PR and then we can review it. One important detail is to ensure there are no breaking changes, otherwise it needs to be explained with migration steps.
