OK. I was able to install the EUFI (x86_64 SMP) ISO. 2 things : 1. after the splash screen grub wasn't able to find its files, i had to add a "root=(hd0,msdos5,amiga1)" line in the grub.cfg file. (everywhere there is a grub.cfg file that is, to be sure). It booted. There are two interesting bugs left: the input is leaking and after it stalls (mouse?) and a module cant be flushed with avail flush. 2. the efi partition is mounted even if I commented everything in Lautomount.conf, it has an ugly icon (not one of mines). I disabled it in hdtoolbox without success. It wants to be mounted.

(in KVM/QEMU) Q35 EUFI, 1G RAM, some disk, SATA.

@Kalamatee: Now, SecureBoot! Do you remember that trick from aminet/mmu.library where you patched any exe to an overlayed exe (like DeluxePaint) with a personal header, to defeat the virus who were patching the exe in a similar way? Could a Secureboot cert/signing be the same? (I have to sign linux drivers often now (nvidia))

Afair the kernel modules are not in elf format but some windows exe format so uefi can verify them?

As far as I can find out, binaries to be launched by UEFI indeed are on PE format, just like Windows binaries.

Note however that only grub needs to be in that format, right?

the uefi payload needs to be PE format, which then does whatever it wants.
