apify proxy timed out
# apify-platform

Lately I got mostly this message:
WARN ProxyConfiguration: Apify Proxy access check timed out. Watch out for errors with status code 407. If you see some, it most likely means you don't have access to either all or some of the proxies you're trying to use.
when creating proxy configuration on local with this line:
const proxyConfiguration = await Actor.createProxyConfiguration({ checkAccess: true });
Main problem is that it is not just the warning. The proxies really do not work.

Is still the case ? It's possible the initial proxy check really just timeouted due to bad luck. If the rest of the script runs fine without proxy errors, you should be fine. from lib code I see it's just gives this warning. but it still should work fine. https://github.com/apify/apify-sdk-js/blob/master/src/proxy_configuration.ts#L473

Hi @Oleg V. problem was that the script really did not run. But it is working now again. I will let you know if it stops working. Thanks.
Hi, it is happening again
Apify Proxy access check timed out. Watch out for errors with status code 407. If you see some, it most likely means you don't have access to either all or some of the proxies you're trying to use.
Just create for example cheerio template and try to run it with your proxy key in env and you should see the error.
It is now working again. Looks like it is really unstable lately.
And now it is not working.

I'm sorry you're experiencing instability with our proxy - I'm currently not experiencing problems, are you still?

Hi @Weuts It is now and then sometimes it is working and sometimes it does not. Now for example it is again not working. when creating proxy configuration:
WARN ProxyConfiguration: Apify Proxy access check timed out. Watch out for errors with status code 407. If you see some, it most likely means you don't have access to either all or some of the proxies you're trying to use.
and then when actually trying to use the proxy:
Failed to get a public proxy IP address from any API endpoint.
code here:
Copy code
js
 const proxyConfiguration = await Actor.createProxyConfiguration({
            groups: ['RESIDENTIAL'],
            countryCode: 'US',
            checkAccess: true,
        });

        const browser = await launchPlaywright({

            launcher: firefox,
            launchOptions: await camoufoxLaunchOptions({
                headless: false,
                proxy: await proxyConfiguration.newUrl(),
                geoip: true,

                // fonts: ['Times New Roman'], // <- custom Camoufox options
            }),
        });
@Weuts @Oleg V. Hi still not working, can advice what to do?
m
Cau @HonzaS 🧗‍♂️ The error is probably from the
Actor.createProxyConfiguration
with
checkAccess = true
- it validates you have an access to the specified proxy group, in this case residential.
Does the error still prevail? You can further investigate it like this: - if you are running it locally, make sure you are logged in with the correct account -> you use correct proxy token - try using apify residential proxy (with your proxy token) - run another Actor with a residential proxy group (under your account where it didn't work) This way you should be able to find out if the error is with your account permissions or apify proxy.
