Actor public IP whitelisting

Hello team. I'm developing an actor that need to access a database stored on azure. To comply with security I would have to whitelist the IP(s) the actor will use to connect. As I read in this post (https://discord.com/channels/801163717915574323/1244982234302251083), this does not seems possible (and finally it makes sens...) The post also suggest that a static proxy could be an available solution. Can it work for TCP connection ? Many thanks.

Hello @Clément, thank you for reaching out. As you have read in the linked thread only way to whitelist IPs for DB connection is to use static proxies. While we have static proxies available its worth mentioning that we only offer
HTTP
proxies which might not be suitable for direct connection to DB (it will probably work but it depends on the server configuration). For this use-case
SOCKS5
proxies would be more suitable as this protocol is designed for arbitrary TCP connections. If you decide to try out our static proxy group but don't see it on the [proxy page](https://console.apify.com/proxy/groups) pleas contact our support team via Intercom (the blue button in the bottom right corner).

Hello @Matyas Cimbulka . Thanks for the answer. I will try the solution you mentioned (but first need to reach support team as I don't see it in my proxy page). Have a nice day !
