Looks like github.com/apache/pulsar/pull/27050 is a critical fix which should get included in Pulsar 5.0.1 since compression is enabled by default.

There's a regression in 4.2.x and 5.0.x when managedCursorInfoCompressionType=LZ4, which is the default value since 5.0.0. github.com/apache/pulsar/issues/27049 The problem was reported just before I started 5.0.1-candidate-1. The reported issue is fixed by github.com/apache/pulsar/pull/27050 Thanks to M-Schwab for reporting and fixing this regression. I'll abort this candidate and start a new one after including the fix. -Lari
