I was wondering if there is a way to get back the latest messageId for a subscription (possibly shared, with non-cumulative acks) up to and including which all the messages has been acknowledged, i.e. the latest messageId that before it's guaranteed not to have acknowledgement holes. the best would be if this could be an attribute attached to the message, like a lamport timestamp or similar (you can use kafka partition + offset like that) - I need to be able to order these on the client side () basically I am trying to implement some watermarking - so on client side I can maintain at the end of a pipeline, up to which we know we have processed all messages in a topic - in case there is some catastrophic error, we can just reset the reader cursor to this (and managing the duplicates) we can be sure we don't lose any data.
