I’ve had this happen a few times too. Usually restarting or deleting the
/data
directory helps. (Obviously this incur loss of all your messages)

Thank you for your reply. However, restarting is useless. Also, what do you mean by
/data
? Is it an absolute path or a relative path? My Mac does not have this directory.

In the pulsar download directory at the root level (where you also find
/conf
,
/bin
etc) it creates a
/data
directory after the standalone was started
