Assuming that you want to reuse the standalone instance between test runs (or at least the underlying volumes), there are different options; 1) You can configure the data retention policies on the topic/namespaces used during the test to expire the data after a short period of time. 2) You could simply delete the topic/namespaces used during the test manually using a simple bash script etc. If neither of these are an option, you can always just shutdown the standalone pulsar instance when you are finished and reclaim the disk volumes after shutdown.

i don't want to reuse the standalone instance, I would like to delete it cleanly. Could you elaborate on reclaiming disk volumes? @David K
d
Just use the docker volume prune command to identify and remove all unattached volumes to ensure that when you run the standalone pulsar instance again that it doesn’t inadvertently mount to the previous disk volume and thus get the old topic data, etc.
c
Thanks @David K. Does it work if I delete the pulsar working directory?
d
You really need to delete the data volume.
c
I don't want to prune all unused volumes, the testing cluster is multi-tenant. but I can delete the docker container along with the volume.

You can definitely be more surgical with your deletion. 😃
