Connectors are completely self-contained, platform-independent pieces of code that can be deployed on any Pulsar platform. If you want to deploy your own or a third-party connector, then the steps are outlined here. I wouldn’t recommend dropping the nar file into the
/pulsar/connectors
folder. The preferred method is to use the admin REST API to deploy/update/delete your sources and sinks. Using the REST API allows you to make changes, update the code etc w/o having to stop/restart the brokers.

Yes, that makes sense.
I guess putting them in the image would effectively make them immutable.
Just like the built-ins. Much less flexible. Thanks for the advice.
