Can you share your docker compose file? Are you able to telnet into the state store running inside the Bookie node on port 4181?
p
Hi David, thanks for taking a look. Compose file: https://gist.github.com/ctc-phil/b99bb9f72c04ce088e19a862ca624905 This is similar to the example but bookie and broker have config files mounted externally to enable function state storage. Could not get it working any other way. Config files look the same except the added parts for state storage as described in the docs. When i telnet the exposed port from the host system i get the expected response but in the containers (using nc because telnet is not available) i get connection refused and there does not seem to be running anything on 4181 in the bookie container. Communication between the container is working though, nc connections between them work. We did load the storage server via extraServerComponents like this, is this still correct?
Copy code
extraServerComponents=org.apache.bookkeeper.stream.server.StreamStorageLifecycleComponent
functions_worker.yml in the broker uses this value:
Copy code
stateStorageServiceUrl: <bk://bookie:4181>
The logs seem to indicate that the storage server is loading properly:

Everything looks correct in the docker compose file. Not sure why it is failing. FWIW, I see the same behavior as well

Do you know someone who might be able to answer what is failing here? We will take another look ourselves since this feature is an exclusion criteria for us to work with pulsar.
