Hi Oneeb, your case would look more like the latter one. I would point you to take a look at the Debezium connectors in the Pulsar repo. You can see the specific connectors all extend
DebeziumSource
and just set the correct task (Example for MySQL here). Maybe you could contribute such a YugabyteDB connector?

Thanks @Alexander Preuss. In my search for setting up a connector, I came across this post https://www.datastax.com/blog/simplify-migrating-kafka-to-pulsar-kafka-connect-support. Im facing an issue however, when I try to run the maven command, I get the following error:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.commonjava.maven.plugins:directory-maven-plugin:1.0:directory-of (directories) on project pulsar-io-kafka-connect-adaptor-nar: Cannot find directory for project: org.apache.pulsar:pulsar
Would you have an idea why this might happening?

Are you running the maven command from the root of the pulsar directory? @Oneeb

I was able to resolve the issue by changing the project version for all POM files to 2.11.0. It seems like 2.12.0-SNAPSHOT is not currently available.

Adding new connector is relatively simple, you can follow examples of mssql/oracle connectors (https://github.com/apache/pulsar/pull/11520 and https://github.com/apache/pulsar/pull/12256) To get it accepted into Apache Pulsar you'll need to add integration tests, these could be tricky. At least yugabyte connector is apache licensed, so no problems on the licensing front. There is also a project that bypasses the integration tests requirement for the sake of getting more connectors faster: https://github.com/datastax/pulsar-3rdparty-connector/ - the repo has instructions on how to add new connectors
