Hi Team.I am looking into the concept of segment pruning in Pinot Controller.Is this a default step in all the queries that are run against the Pinot Broker or does it come into the picture only when the Bloom filter is enabled?

By default there is no segment pruning. Segment pruning is enabled based on routing configuration. ref

Isn’t time based pruning default? If not, any reason to not make it default?

No i am not trying to change the default feature.I just want to know if what the default action is.What happens in the case where my query does not include the time column values in the WHERE Clause. How does pruning occur in this case by default?

If no time column specified in the query, then time based pruning won't happen.
