04/28/2024, 11:54 AMNullPointerException when executing simple queries. I've tried enabling the multi-stage engine according to the documentation, but it seems there might be a deeper configuration or runtime issue.
*Environment:
Pinot Version: 0.11.0
Deployment: Docker-compose
Components Configured: Controller, Broker, and Server
*Controller Configuration (controller.conf):
controller.helix.cluster.name=bigdata-pinot-ansible
controller.port=9000
...
pinot.multistage.engine.enabled=true
pinot.query.server.port=8421
pinot.query.runner.port=8442
*Issue Description:
When attempting to run the query SELECT * FROM insight_product LIMIT 10, the system throws the following error:
SQLParsingError:
java.lang.RuntimeException: Error composing query plan for: select * from insight_product limit 10
at org.apache.pinot.query.QueryEnvironment.planQuery(QueryEnvironment.java:136)
...
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at org.apache.pinot.query.routing.WorkerManager.assignWorkerToStage(WorkerManager.java:63)
...
*Troubleshooting Done:
Confirmed network connectivity and settings in Docker.
Ensured all services are reachable and communicating.
Checked logs for additional clues but found none indicating configuration issues prior to the error.
I suspect there might be an issue with how workers are assigned to stages or possibly a deeper integration issue. Could you please help me understand if there is a configuration I might be missing or if this points to a potential bug in the multi-stage engine?
Thank you for your assistance.Dorsa Hasanlee
