Folks, have you ever wished that the interface to use Pinot from your java repository had similar interface as for relational tables (think hibernate), came with an easy to use DAO API layer and also had APIs for building a search/filtering query within java code itself While operationalizing pinot in an internal project at my company, I had similar motivations, and I ended up building a Pinot DAO
bundle
with all these features to integrate pinot from our dropwizard application. DAO bundle is essentially an easy-to-use wrapper over Pinot REST APIs and comes with 1. Entity class - similar to hibernate entity with annotations to mark PartitionKey, UniqueKey and Columns 2. Standard DAO layer APIs to write and read data 3. Search APIs - Suite of filters that you can use to define flexible queries on the Pinot table (similar to ES filters) 4. Models - Conversion of raw pinot api responses into POJOs for easy use and validation within your project 5. Admin APIs - for creating schema, tables and maintenance (extensible as the needs evolve) Library uses pinot low level client internally.. Please check the README and upvote this if you find the library useful and leave a comment if you have suggestions or feedback on usability. Basis that we will decide how can this be best used by the community! cc @Mayank https://github.com/tanmayvarun/pinot-dropwizard-bundle

Thanks @Tanmay Varun ! This is great integration! Do you have some sample application as example for the usage?

Hi @Xiang Fu, thanks for the query bro, we have a prod dropwizard application running within the company that uses this dao bundle, I will create a sample application to show import and use of this dao bundle, i will drop the link here soon and in the dao bundle doc..
