If i want optimal performance in pinot which is having n servers , is it recommended to have n partition too of a kafka topic?

I wouldn’t choose number of partitions based on number of servers, that’s not the right criteria. Number of servers can be scaled up/down independently

+1, the best metrics we tracked here were actually “events consumed per second per core” and “consuming segments per core”. you have 3 variables here: partitions, num servers, and num cores per server; so it’s easiest to pick numbers if you can constrain one of them
