Hello all! I tried to look around Pinot documentation and the actual codebase itself, but wasn’t able to find any luck. How exactly do we configure and tag servers? Ex: tag server_instance_1 as replica_group_1 or pool_1. Doc explains it’s done via Helix instance configs but how do we go about changing that via
server.conf
if possible? I see it done programmatically like
InstanceConfig.addTag
https://docs.pinot.apache.org/operators/operating-pinot/instance-assignment#pool-based-instance-assignment
I did find that there is an API way via
/instances/{instanceName}/updateTags
but what we’d like is a config driven way (as we have CI/CD pipeline with K8 files)

I think there’s an api (check swagger) to tag instances. Tags don’t go into server config, but into Helix.

Correct, thanks guys. But was wondering if it was possible to do it via config. Looks like not feasible
