So the granularity by itself doesn't do anything by itself, a transform function is needed also, right?

also in case you’re wondering why we have the granularity if it is not being applied, we do plan to use it in the future. DateTimeFieldSpec is a newly introduced spec. We potentially will use granularity to do automatic rollups in segment merge/rollup jobs
