Hi Team, I am following these instructions mentioned here to run Flink K8s operator on Google Kubernetes Engine. After running the following command the cert-manager pods fail to start.
kubectl create -f <https://github.com/jetstack/cert-manager/releases/download/v1.8.2/cert-manager.yaml>
I checked the logs for pods. I can see this error in pod logs
Copy code
exec /app/cmd/cainjector/cainjector: exec format error
Has anyone faced a similar issue ?
g
we havent tried this but you can try using a newer cert manager version
or if you can’t make it work you can file a jira ticket and disable the webhook as a workaround
m
Sure. I will try
By the way what is the use of this cert-manager resources?
g
the webhook generates tls certs from that
nothing else

This got resolved. I was running arm64 image which was built on my M1 mac, however the GKE nodes had amd64 arch. After fixing the images it got resolved.
@Gyula Fóra Do we have snapshot images of flink-kubernetes-operator available publicly or we just have to build it on my local ?
g
Every commit to main triggers a corresponding snapshot build to https://github.com/orgs/apache/packages?repo_name=flink-kubernetes-operator
m
Thanks I will check.
