Hi everyone, cross-posting my email here. We're running a Flink 1.20.5 job with a Kafka source (KafkaSource / flink-connector-base) that might hit FLINK-37663, a lost-wakeup in

FutureCompletingBlockingQueue.waitOnPut()

that permanently stalls a fetcher thread under sustained backpressure after a mass split-assignment burst. The ticket shows this is resolved upstream, with fix versions including 1.20.6, 2.0.3, 2.1.4, 2.2.2, 2.3.0, and 2.4.0. Only 2.3.0 has actually shipped so far. A couple of questions for the community: 1. Is there a workaround for this that doesn't require a full Flink version bump? 2. Is there a rough timeline for a 1.20.6 patch release, or is upgrading to 2.3.0 the recommended path forward? Thanks in advance.

Would building the Flink jar and baking it in a docker image maintained by you a possible solution? This could give you this detachment from Flink release cycles.
