Hi all I’m trying to build Flink 2.3-SNAPSHOT from source as a new contributor and I’m running into a build blocker. Environment • macOS (Apple Silicon) • Maven: 3.8.6 (also tried 3.9.9 initially) • JDK: 17 Problem:
jackson-mapper-asl
version not available When I run:
mvn clean install -DskipTests
the build fails with:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project flink-hadoop-fs: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.apache.flink:flink-hadoop-fs:jar:2.3-SNAPSHOT:
Could not find artifact org.codehaus.jackson:jackson-mapper-asl:jar:1.9.14.jdk17-redhat-00001
in central (<https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/>)
The root pom.xml defines:
<jackson.mapper.asl.version>1.9.14.jdk17-redhat-00001</jackson.mapper.asl.version>
On Maven Central the latest available version seems to be 1.9.13. Is this Red Hat–specific version in the pom.xml intentional, or is it OK to change this property to a version that’s actually in Central (1.9.13) so that a fresh mvn clean install works for new contributors? If changing it is acceptable, I’d be happy to open a PR and start my first contribution to Flink from here.

Hi! I just tested the build locally and it's passing without issues. The artifact is successfully downloading from the RedHat repository: https://maven.repository.redhat.com/ga/org/codehaus/jackson/jackson-mapper-asl/1.9.14.jdk17-redhat-00001/ This looks like a local Maven configuration issue on your end.

Hi Yes, you’re right, it seems to be an issue with my local Maven setup. I’m fixing it on my end now. Thanks for checking and pointing it out!
