Does anyone have experience with running Flink job...

Does anyone have experience with running Flink jobs locally in IntelliJ IDE (non cluster based)? Or have any other preferred methods for testing Flink jobs? I am having some trouble testing a basic Flink job on my local machine. I am using IntelliJ Idea and trying to run a basic project created using the maven archetype:
mvn archetype:generate \
    -DarchetypeGroupId=org.apache.flink \
    -DarchetypeArtifactId=flink-quickstart-java \
    -DarchetypeVersion=1.12.0 \
    -DgroupId=galiglobal \
    -DartifactId=flink-playground \
    -Dversion=0.1 \
    -Dpackage=galiglobal.flink \
    -DinteractiveMode=false
I added the
flink-connector-mongodb
and some code to connect to a mongodb instance. The project compiles fine (mvn clean install), when I try to run the project I get the following runtime error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/flink/connector/base/source/reader/RecordEmitter
	at galiglobal.flink.StreamingJob.execute(StreamingJob.java:56)

Process finished with exit code 1

I am using the following IntelliJ runtime options: • Add dependencies with “provided” scope to classpath • Use classpath of module I have not extensively used maven nor IntelliJ so my suspects are both my runtime configuration and the pom file definition. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

You're building a Flink 1.12 application, but MongoDB doesn't support Flink 1.12
You should change your update to build for Flink 1.17
s
yes that was a mistake, I changed a few things around and made that change. Thank you.
Now, I see this error:

I fear this one isn’t solvable; I found a related issue for another project here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-4567
m
Since Beam has solved it, I don't see why it wouldn't be solvable?
s
“Solvable” yes, but practically speaking, not by someone like myself
within a reasonable amount of time…
