I've been looking at the memory allocated to Flink automatically in Kubernetes and I was wondering why the on-heap memory allocation seems so low. I've given the process 2GB to play with and the automatic memory configuration has given on-heap .7 GB. Meanwhile, nonheap automatically gets almost .8GB! Does Flink really not use its heap that much, or have I misconfigured something somewhere?
