Hey all, I want to follow up on https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-12680 and see if there has been a change with regards to considering support for timers as a metric type in Flink. For our use case, we have a custom way we do histograms tldr we derive them from timer types and having Flink support timer metric types would be a huge help.

I would recommend to open a discussion on the Dev mailing list for that. As far as I know, support is still not being considered
