if you use the latest druid, the startup scripts tune everything for you based on available hardware

so I should not set environment variables and just trust the startup scripts will tune everything ?

Druid was so complicated to tune that I didn't though that I should just remove the previously defined druid tuning environment variables. Many thanks ! Will try that on Monday.
