You would have to use the catalog.

Hey Karan, thanks for helping. I am not sure I follow. When you say
catalog
are you referring to this? https://druid.apache.org/docs/latest/development/extensions-core/catalog/ The suggestion is to create a table first with the projections in place and then ingest data?
k
Yup.

Thanks for your insights Karan, this is super helpful. By any chance do you know the expected GA release for
projections
and the
catalog
. This feature is super helpful for us in production.

Projection would be documented this release but would still be experimental. The only major consumer of the catalog is the projection currently so I guess whenever we declare projection GA we woudl declare catalog GA as well. Regarding timelines, maybe the Jan release, or the April release. Can't say for sure. We need more people to test and raise issues. Maybe you could help out there 🙂
But D35 would be much more stable. Ton of projection fixes going out. D35 would be available in Nov sometime.

Thanks for the response Karan. The concern on my end for testing is the stability. If we have to test it it at scale, we have to do it in production. What is the criteria for the feature to graduate to production/GA?
Hey Karan, did we end up publishing the projections documentation in the latest release? I only see it in Imply's documentation.
