It would be quite convinient to have them ootb, otherwise one should look for some workarounds like to build its own metrics exporter. The goal here, is to be able to observe and monitor compaction tasks on their status. (The mentioned metrics above, by documentation they come with

taskType

dimension. Nevertheless, at least in my case, such dimension is not available.) Could you recommend optimal way of collecting compaction tasks metrics?

I just took inventory of what is being reported under each task type for one of the local clusters here ...
