Hi everyone, i have recently encountered a OutOfMemory problem. when i want to query my data because of shortage on ram, my segments on historical become unavailable, and the query becomes invalid. By setting load rules to smaller periods does ram usage decrease? or should i make the drop rule periods smaller ? and if i should drop some segments, that would be not very quick to retain the drop segments, right?

Based on the information retrieved from the system, it appears that managing load and drop rules effectively can influence the performance and memory usage of your data queries. 1. Load Rules: By configuring load rules to smaller periods, you may reduce the amount of data that is loaded into memory at any given time. This can help alleviate pressure on RAM when querying data. Specifically, using interval load rules or period load rules can minimize the memory footprint during query execution, allowing for more efficient resource usage. 2. Drop Rules: Implementing smaller drop rule periods can also contribute to reducing memory usage. When you drop segments that are no longer needed quickly, it can help clear outdated data from your system. However, be careful with the amount of data being dropped; although removing unneeded segments can free up resources, it may take some time for the system to reflect this if it's busy processing other segments or if the clusters are experiencing heavy load. 3. Segment Availability: If your segments on historical become unavailable due to RAM shortages, you may need to balance your load and drop rules intelligently. While the system fetches data into memory, ensure that it's not overloaded with unnecessary segments. Establishing more refined rules can generate better overall system performance. It's crucial to monitor the effects of any adjustments on your RAM usage and query performance through testing, as the ideal configuration may vary based on your specific workload and data characteristics.
