Hello, has anyone used Apache Druid for traditional BI in place of a datawarehouse? Secondly have you considered any visualization tools apart from Superset on top of Druid like Power BI, Tableau or Looker? Please feel free to share your experience and I would also like to talk in DM if anyone available. Thank you in advance.

Hello @Maria Taramigkou
we are using Looker on top of Druid, and so far our data team is happy. Now, concerning using Druid instead of data-warehouse, I haven’t seen such a case till now, but i was under the impression that Druid is more useful when you know the analytics you want in advance, while data-warehousing (RDBMS) is more useful when you don’t know the analytics you need in advance. Druid offers much lower latency in OLAP queries and ingestion, but is not as flexible as RDBMS. Take a look here : => https://imply.io/blog/when-a-data-warehouse-cant-keep-it-real-time/
With Druid, like in other NoSQL systems, you start building your model based on your needs (so that means you know your analytics needs), while RDBMS and data-warehousing can give you more flexibility on the cost of performance.
