Hi All, I had two queries regarding the Kafka supervisor: 1. Is it possible to update the spec of a suspended supervisor through the API before resuming it? Or is it possible to post an updated supervisor spec to the "resume" API? I looked at the docs but couldn't find any specific info on this. We suspend the supervisor every weekend to support host reboot and we want to use the latest spec when it resumes. Similarly whenever there is a schema change, we want to perform a single restart operation on the supervisor which will suspend, update spec and resume. The schema is stored separately and the supervisor spec is generated using the schema before starting/resuming the supervisor. 2. Are there any plans to support a query based spec (MSQ extension) for the supervisor instead of json? Currently we need to maintain separate templates and generate the spec for batch and realtime ingestion. We have solved it partially by moving all the batch ingestion to MSQ but we still need to maintain the supervisor spec. Regards, AR.
For q 1, it is possible to POST a new spec to the "/supervisor" endpoint of a "suspended" supervisor (not "/supervisor/resume"). The supervisor resumes using the updated spec. We tested it and it seems to pick up the new spec looking at the payload history on the console. Can someone from Druid team confirm if this understanding is correct? Thanks, AR.
