option in the specification designed to also delete segments from deep storage, or is its purpose solely to remove data from historical nodes? If it doesn’t affect deep storage, is there an alternative method to automatically delete old segments from deep storage, eliminating the need for manually sending kill tasks?

Segments will not automatically be removed from deep storage based on the setting of

dropExisting

- they will be set to unused. Kill tasks will still be required to remove them from deep storage - either manually or via coordinator-kill
