Did you try installing MySql locally and updating the
druid.metadata.storage.*
properties the
common.runtime.props
..? I was able to set single cluster to use MinIO as the deep storage. So i don't see why the same wouldn't work for metadata DB.
a
Am yet to try bro!... before that I want to check and confirm whether I can use MySQL in single-server. Also I want to connect MySQL which is not in druid local server installed. Connecting another IP where MySQL runs
a
I haven't tried this first hand, but it Should work. I think I even tried a single cluster deployment to talk to an external zookeeper cluster. I vaguely remember that also worked. Try it out! and do lmk

Okay thank you.

In theory it shouldn't matter your cluster configuration, the overlord is the primary (only?) Druid service that communicates with the Meta Store ...
a
ok John, so it meant that, I can use external MySQL (not locally installed in druid server) to store & fetch metadata for single-server-deployment too!
thank you
j
Oh, ok yes you are correct, any MYSQL should work so long as it is a compatible version. The included metastore would be only for convenience.
