Hey everyone! <!channel> 👋 We just launched our free connector program, making all alpha and beta connectors free on Airbyte Cloud! Starting today, all your connections with either an alpha/beta source or alpha/beta destination will be free to use on Airbyte Cloud. This involves 100+ connectors today and this number will grow to ~200 while we port 75% of open-source connectors to Cloud in the next few months. What do you need to participate in the program? Just your credit card to enroll, and those connectors will be free to use for you. When do we start charging for those connectors? We will notify you in advance when you have connections with both source and destination that will become GA, and will give you a grace period before charging you. Why do we do this? I explain it all in this article, but in summary, in order to have 1,000+ GA connectors, we need a flywheel between our growing community, great tooling and also usage of long-tail connectors to help identify edge cases / issues. We’re also mindful of the economical context :). We are on ProductHunt today and would love your support!

And that is amazing news! i think this will excite a lot of people, as i certainly had no interest in hosting it myself, if airbyte cloud had the connectors we needed. great move

our goal is indeed to get them all in GA. the article explains how the free connector program actually helps in that sense. we will have more to share in the next 3 months on how we will get them all in GA, it will go with again better tooling to build and maintain, and better visibility and incentification for the community. onward to the goal of having 1,000+ GA connectors!

@ihsan islam I believe the answer is no, Airbyte does not support non-GA connectors. A direct answer would have been more clear @John (Airbyte).

Thanks for helping clarify, Joe. While we don’t offer the same level of support as generally available connectors, this program helps the team prioritize the certification efforts for the alpha and beta connectors and address any feedback and requests you share with us to ensure the GA connector is top notch. Of course, we won’t be able to work on all of them at once, so in parallel we will be continuing to improve the tooling that empowers you to make any customizations or even build brand new connectors yourself using our low-code CDK and

our connector builder UI

. Email us at early-access@airbyte.io if you’re interested in participating in the early access program for the builder!
