Can someone please tell me if it is possible to get a connection (in order to connect to the database through this connection in the dag) from airbyte in airflow?(i don't find it in api documentation)
n
Hi Wolfgan, could you give me more details on what exactly you're trying to do? We have extensive documentation, the API docs are just a part of that. Here's a doc that refers to Airflow: https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/using-the-airflow-airbyte-operator

@Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) Hi, i am trying to get connection(localhost, port, username, password, database) from airbyte connector(source or destination) via airflow inside dag
n
I see! I do not have enough domain knowledge of airflow to help out here, unfortunately. I'd suggest searching through Slack/the forum for other users that might have needed to do this and reaching out to them!
p
you mean:
Copy code
trigger = AirbyteTriggerSyncOperator(
        connection_id='CONNECTION_ID',
        task_id='TASK_ID',
        airbyte_conn_id='airbyte',
        asynchronous=True,
    )
where airbyte is the Connection Id of Airflow connection you have created for your airbyte installation (host, port, ...)

@Petri Väänänenyes, but I want to get a connection not of airbyte, but of a database that is connected to airbyte (source and destination)
@Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) could you say please then where is airbyte contain connection to databases in files?
n
Are you referring to Airbyte's internal database where it stores state? Have you seen this doc on using an external database? https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/configuring-airbyte-db/#connecting-to-an-external-postgres-database I haven't seen a use case quite like yours come up yet, so trying my best to understand!
w
@Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) i mean, where and how i could get connection data of database(localhost, port, username, password) that i connected via UI, maybe it stores in some file in docker container? or do you have api method to request that data? (example data that i need on screenshot)
n
So the data is in the database: https://docs.airbyte.com/operator-guides/security/#credential-management I think you'd need to look around the database to see exactly where all this is stored. Would you be able to do this? If not, I can look into it early next week.
