Airbyte runs in the Docker container, thus if Docker is not running then Airbyte is not running.

@Jon M - I pretty much figured that was the case BUT how can i set the data ingestion on a schedule w/out that dependency of having the docker container running locally?

Well, it's gotta be running somewhere. If not locally, consider a server.
