Hey people, I build a custom connector for Braze, and pushed recently few new docker images, but some how the worker is catching the previous source code. Check images screesnhots: • screesnhot1, cched version • screenshot2, source with the fix

Hi. this is due that the source still runs on the older image. you need either delete the source via airbyte api and then create again the source with the new version OR better and faster way is just update the source via the api with the latest image and done POST api/v1/source_definitions/update
Copy code
{
  "sourceDefinitionId": "1111-1111-1111-111-3872d1a4ee1111115f",
  "dockerImageTag": "1.3.6"
}
s
I already updated the docker image tag, still the same…
e
did you build the image under the same tag that updated to?
s
nop, I bump a new version
e
when you run the build command you need to specify the :tag that tag is the latest version you need to add to the dockerImageTag in the api call
s
I already did this, not working
@Eli Sigal do you know how I can force the source to update the specs?
e
not sure what do you mean by update the source spec you have source and source definition which one you want to change?
s
I have an source defition, and this got updated, but the sources, still using the last specs
so can I force the sources to get latest specs from the sourceDefinition
I saw people talking about:
Copy code
docker builder prune --all
e
you can do it easier by using:
Copy code
docker build . -t airbyte/source-<you-source-name>:2.0.0
then: POST api/v1/source_definitions/update
Copy code
{
  "sourceDefinitionId": "1111-1111-1111-111-3872d1a4ee1111115f", <----- this is the source definition id for your source and it has to be the one that you've created in the UI
  "dockerImageTag": "2.0.0"
}
s
I already did all this, and not works, the thing is I tried in new machine, and all works as expected
e
it works since you've create the correct image in UI for the source a workaround next time is delete the source via API and then add it again with the correct version
s
I also tried this, doesnt work, now I’m trying to stop all dockers and try again
this is the chached one:
and this one is a new machine:
image.png
e
adding a source is done via the settings tab- are you reusing the source each time?
s
nop, I deleted it completly
e
and it still doesnt work? if not you can try the docker prune method
s
tried already also… I will try to connect to the db, and let see what is there
