Hello I have an issue to connect Airbyte to DynamoDB : "The connection tests failed: common.error" Is someone familiar with this ? Thanks
m
Try to remove the http:// and last /
v
Thanks for your reply πŸ™‚ but same issue occurs...
m
I had the same issue when I was using an instance with permissions issues. Are you able to create other connectors?
v
Is it a bug or I can change something on my side to make it work ? I really need DynamoBD connector ...
m
Victor did you try removing the endpoint? This is using integration test credentials

Thanks a lot It works without Endpoint ! πŸ™‚ But i have another issue now : see picture. Is there a workaround ?
I am not allowed to change the name of the column in DynamoDB..
m
You have
hash
as a column name in your collection?
v
Yes... is there a way to bypass it in Airbyte ?
u
I don't think so Victor, this is an issue in Dynamodb library level. The connector must implement something to handle this special case.
v
Is there something planned to be implemented to fix this special case soon ?
m
No, I don’t see any issues in Github and Dynamodb is still an alpha connector
v
You mean the connector should be able to handle this case ? Where am I doing wrong ? (the connector works with other tables in dynamoDB without reserved keywords)
u
As far I know, in Airbyte normalization Airbyte handles the reserved words to create the SQL query for dbt. For your use case I think this should be done in Dynamodb library/jdbc driver to handle this case. You can create a Github issue to discuss with others engineer possible solutions
v
Sorry for my late reply. Ok I will create a Github issue. Thanks for your help πŸ™‚
