I am trying to set
Paypal transactions
source Everything looks fine, but it always return 0 transactions. No errors, no nothing. Balances stream is returning records.
2022-12-07 11:51:50 source > Starting syncing SourcePaypalTransaction
2022-12-07 11:51:50 source > Syncing stream: transactions
2022-12-07 11:51:52 source > Maximum allowed start_date is 2022-12-07 09:29:59+00:00 based on info from API response
2022-12-07 11:53:13 source > Read 0 records from transactions stream
2022-12-07 11:53:13 source > Finished syncing transactions
2022-12-07 11:53:13 source > SourcePaypalTransaction runtimes:
Syncing stream transactions 0:01:23.353576
When sending direct requests to api endpoint https://api-m.paypal.com/v1/reporting/transactions transactions are returned properly. Any suggestions what should I try?

a
can it be because they are no transactions?
a
I also thought so, therefore tested with a direct request to transactions endpoint. Transactions are returned.
a
can it be because you have incremental index and when do sync if there is no NEW record simply ignore the rest
and return Read 0 records
a
I have also tried resetting data before rerunning sync and changing it to full refresh, still 0.
a
what about if the credential/account to which connect locally is different than the one in airbyte
one has stuff the other not
a
no, it is the same, rechecked credentials several times already 😞

You checked this message:

Maybe you’re using a previous start date but the API allow only this one
a
I have tried to fully delete and recreate the source. I guess that would solve previous start date problem, if it would be there. And yes, I have also checked github code already, seems like the same endpoint, same version, everything is the same. But in postman I get transactions and airbyte returns 0. Thanks for the ideas. I am trying to make it work for already couple of days.
Maybe you’re using a previous start date but the API allow only this one
As I understood the code, this is just an info message, not an error. To identify what will be the max start date. According to Paypal api it allows start date to be in a range from 3 years to 1.5 hours from now. Also tried to set start date to more than 3 years from now, it shows a warning, but still works. Balance states are getting returned, and as usual 0 transactions.

In postman are you also trying with the extra paramters (start date, etc)?
a
Just
start_date
and
end_date
. It is not possible to request transactions without those two parameters.
@Marcos Marx (Airbyte) It seems that there is a bug in airbyte cloud paypal source. I have noticed that account_id which is returned for balance response doesn’t correspond to the one I receive in Postman. Plus I am getting the same account_id for live and sandbox environment for airbyte connection. In case of direct request via postman account_id is different for sandbox and live. Which makes me think that my credentials are ignored and there is a fallback to some test account. (account_id
QJQSC8WXYCA2L
) And it also seems that you can specify random values as
client_id
and
client_secret
and it will still show you: “All connection tests passed!“. Which again makes me think that credentials are hardcoded somewhere or there is a fallback to test credentials.

Ohh I see @Aleksei Abisev do you mind sending a message in Intercom chat to receive the proper support? Maybe this can affect more users or some problem with auth used in Airbyte Cloud.
a
sure, will do now

@Marcos Marx (Airbyte) fyi. Got a message from your support: “The team has deployed a fixed for the Paypal Source Connector. You should now be able to input your Client ID and Client Secret and properly connect to your account.” Just tested it. Looking fine.

amazing!
