hi, i’m using a google analytics connection with basic Normalize. for some reason or error part of the data in the inital sync didn’t run the normalization part. how can i do a full normalization run ? running the sync again run normalization only on the new records. thanks!

Hi, Avi! Could you please give me bit more info: 1. Airbyte version 2. Connector versions 3. Any sync logs
a
thanks @Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte)! unfortunately i did some changes so i don’t have the logs any more. i’m using airbyte 0.40.22 with Google Analytics (Universal Analytics) version 0.1.32
the normaliztaion failed due to an error on our side (in the destination. the question is more theoretical if theres a way to re run only the normaliztaion on all of the data in the raw data table thanks!!!
n
I do not believe there's a way to rerun just the normalization!
a
thanks @Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) 🙂

@Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) Does it make sense that after an exception during normalization (the DB went down), airbyte did not recover and retried to sync the same batch ? I would imagine that there would be a safety mechanism to make sure that some window in time is not lost And if it is lost - is there a way that you suggest that we can identify that the data ELT outcome is partial and therefore we need to re-sync the whole connection ?
@Avi Sagal fyi

@Alon Bar I don't believe a safety mechanism like that exists currently, but I'll double check
a
thanks @Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte) we would love to open a feature request if it doesnt exist It sounds to me like its a pretty important retry mechanism to make sure that if a writing was incomplete it will not produce partial data.
n
Yes, please go ahead and open that feature request!
a
can you send us a link to where to open this request? Thanks!!
