Hello!!
h
how can i contribute to the project?
more of a python dev today but used to doing Java and React in the past
c
usually contributing a connector is a pretty straight forward to place to start.
h
Love to tackle this good first issue https://github.com/airbytehq/airbyte/issues/1983
c
we allow you to do it in any language but we ahve some tutorial specifically for python.
i guess what is your goal by contributing? do you have an ELT use case in mind?
h
I'm trialing the tool and thought a good test would be to try to contribute to the codebase
I could to contribute a connector too
c
nice! i think contributing a connector is going to be the most straight forward introduction.
here's a tutorial on how to do that in python. lmk if you have any questions along the way.
do you have a sense of what sources you'll need?
h
ideally i'd like to test it with a demo source account
c
so if you just want to try it out, i would suggest using the exchange rates api as the source.
it does not require any credentials.
here's a getting started tutorial that just lets you try it out.
h
thanks @charles i'll give that a go
