Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me with how to alter your nginx config? nginx is not something I have come across before but I have read that adding a line to it for the parameter
client_max_body_size
can fix the 'client tried to send too large body' error that I am getting. I am deploying airbyte locally on my Mac by cloning the github repo and running on docker desktop. I found some files in airbyte/airbyte-proxy/ called nginx-auth.conf.template and nginx-no-auth.conf.template and tried adding the change there (see picture), but it didn't seem to help. Am I missing something? Where else should I be going to make this change?
Tried to change pic but it wouldn't let me. Here's what i have at the moment, copied the structure from the config in airbyte-webapp. But it is giving the same error still.

Hey Stuart! I'm new to nginx as well, so if I can't help you I'll definitely ask for the support of the team. I've discovered this article and think it might be helpful in your case: https://blog.shadabmohammad.com/deploy-and-secure-airbyte-with-nginx-reverse-proxy-basic-authentication-lets-encrypt-ssl-72bee223a4d9 Specifically, it looks like you'll need to create a config file at
/etc/nginx/nginx.conf
and use one of the templates there. Let me know if this helps!

Hey @Nataly Merezhuk (Airbyte), thanks for looking into this. I've made some more discoveries about it. The file /etc/nginx/nginx.conf is produced by the airbyte code. If you look at the following file: airbyte/airbyte-proxy/Dockerfile it takes the template file I was trying to edit and copies it to /etc/nginx/templates Then the file airbyte/airbyte-proxy/run.sh uses that template to create etc/nginx/nginx.conf. At least that is how it looks from my limited understanding. However when i run docker-compose and then copy out /etc/nginx/nginx.conf into my local using the docker cp command to take a look at it, my changes i put in the template aren't there. I think my problem is a docker one. I am also a total newbie to docker and have just been using the
docker-compose up
command from the installation guide. I think I need to find the right command that will reset it so that my changes come through to the /etc/nginx/nginx.conf in the container.

Huh, I wouldn't have thought that you'd need to run something other than
docker compose up
Let me look into this a bit further and I'll get back to you!
