I find this confusing when connecting postgres via ssh host. The documentation says I only need to copy-paste the private key into airbyte, but the connection fails with this message which seems like I need to key-in both key? 🆘
Copy code
The connection tests failed.
Could not connect with provided SSH configuration. Error: Unable to load private key pairs, verify key pairs are properly inputted

Hi Faris, I need some more details: • Airbyte version • Is this a source/destination? • Connector version
f
• version
0.40.18
• this is source • postgres connector version 1.0.23

I've been looking into this and it looks like the ssh key should be getting validated by Airbyte, so it's bizarre that you're getting this error. Could you perhaps generate a new key and try that? https://airbytehq.github.io/integrations/sources/postgres/#generating-an-rsa-private-key
f
Okay my expectation is that airbyte should create an ssh key and give me the public to add in my bastion host. The current behaviour is not clear and the documentation is confusing. I have generated the key in my bastion host and copied the private key to past in airbyte connector. This is what I understood from the documentation. Is my understanding correct?
n
Yes, that is correct. Just to double check - you are using an RSA private key and not password authentication, right?
f
True yeah using the private key
