It says: “As soon as data has transferred from the Source to the Destination, it is purged from Airbyte infrastructure.”

Is it also true for self hosted open-source version of airbyte (on a GCP VM for instance) ? I’d imagine that absolutly no data is transferred to airbyte infrastructure when you host it like that, but I would love to be sure 🙂

Hi @Henri-Maxime DUCOULOMBIER the statement is valid for both open source and cloud versions. There's no data retention that occurs after a sync. We do buffer some data while the sync is running, to transfer data from source to destination, but once the transfer is finished no data remains.

Yeah but I mean, since I’m planning to host Airbyte on my own VM in GPC, nothing is sent to Airbyte managed servers or services right ? I need to make sure that (this a requirement of my client) absolutely no data is sent outside.

So in the statement, “Airbyte infrastructure” means my own Airbyte infrastructure in case of opensource version ?
